Summary

Serve as a vital emergency response professional, administering immediate medical care to individuals affected by accidents, sudden illnesses, or emergencies such as cardiac arrests. You will provide both pre-hospital and in-hospital advanced life support care from the moment of initial contact until patient transfer to the accepting medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service during public functions and events, providing standby services when required.
• Thoroughly document assessments and treatments using patient care software.
• Deliver care to patients facing psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises through appropriate medical, traumatic, and therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate as a member of a two-person ambulance crew, responding to both emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Operate advanced life support equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, and ECG monitors.
• Assess the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses, prioritizing necessary medical procedures like stabilization and movement of victims from the scene.
• Safely navigate and operate emergency vehicles in response to dispatch instructions.
• Administer medications through injections, intravenous methods, or orally under physician direction.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel at treatment facilities to obtain treatment instructions.
• Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after transporting or treating patients with infectious diseases and report as necessary.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Regular physical activities include standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and overhead reaching.
