Reverse Engineering : Utilize advanced metrology tools (e.g., 3D scanners, CMM, calipers) to accurately capture geometry and material specifications from existing physical parts and assemblies.
Solid Modeling & CAD : Create precise 3D solid models using CAD software, SolidWorks, with a strong focus on generating accurate designs for sheet metal and fabricated components.
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) : Apply extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes (laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, assembly) to optimize designs for efficient, cost-effective, and high-yield production.
Documentation : Develop comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed 2D production drawings (GD&T expertise required), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams including machinists, fabricators, quality assurance, and project managers to ensure design integrity and successful product realization.
