Description Role Summary
Are you interested in protecting TWR from potential IT security threats? TWR needs IT security specialists to ensure the safety and integrity of its data and information systems. As someone with in-depth understanding of a variety of cyber security threats and vulnerabilities, you would develop and implement plans to safeguard data, monitor and upgrade security systems, educate workers about computer security, perform risk assessments and security audits, and participate in security investigations.
IT Security Specialist : Americas (Cary, NC, USA), Africa, Asia, Europe
The TWR IT Security Specialist assists with planning and implantation of TWR’s IT security system. The Security Specialist oversees the protection of TWR’s IT infrastructure, data, and workstations through industry best practices such as layered firewalls, multi-factor authentication, filtering, monitoring, end-user training and testing, etc.
Core Competencies :
- Proficiency in cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and solutions to prevent, monitor, and remediate vulnerabilities
- Knowledge of web application development, patching, threat monitoring, and response technologies
- Knowledge of security software and services including anti-virus, anti-malware, malware filtering, etc.
- Understanding of general IT concepts such as networking, collaboration, virtualization, security principles, directory services, cloud, compliance, etc.
- Skill in performing root cause analysis to identify problems and solutions
- Able to manage multiple priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication o Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
Responsibilities :
Support TWR’s IT security strategy to align with TWR’s vision and goals as determined by the Director of ITCollaborate with Global IT staff to design secure IT solutionsDevelop and implement plans to safeguard dataMonitor and upgrade security systems and servicesPerform risk assessmentsPerform security auditsParticipate in security investigations as neededEnsure systems and workstations on the network are protected from viruses and malwareFilter and monitor traffic flowing to and from TWR’s internal networks for intrusion and connections to inappropriate contentSupport TWR efforts to meet and address security related compliance requirements (e.g. PCI, GDPR, etc.)Stay up to date on the latest security vulnerabilities and defenses required to thwart potential attacksSupport TWR’s business continuity efforts by documenting and implementing procedures for data breechConsult with other TWR departments on security related matters o Support and educate users in safe, effective use of workstations and related systems.Desirable Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience3+ years of experience in IT Security or related fieldUnderstanding of programming languages such as C++, PHP, Java, etc.Knowledge of security software and services including anti-virus, anti-malware, etc.Problem-solving capabilities in high-pressure environmentsProficient with network and Internet protocols TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, etc.Proficient in layered network security implementation and monitoring
