Responsibilities :
- Enhance Guest Experience : Collaborate to continuously improve guest experience, service quality, and operational effectiveness while increasing wine sales.
- Wine and Beverage Recommendations : Assist guests with wine and beverage selections that complement their meals, and communicate guest preferences to the manager.
- Wine Selection and Maintenance : Assist in selecting wines and spirits, place wine orders, and maintain the wine cellar, ensuring inventory balance and control.
- Staff Education : Create and lead wine education classes for the team to advance their knowledge and skills.
- Operational Support : Assist team members as needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations, including performing side work and maintaining clean, functional equipment.
- Previous experience with POS and inventory systems
- Communication with the team up to date of all changes to the wine list and the wine program.
- Thrive in fast-paced environment while following steps of service.
- Collaborative team-player is a must
JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS :
Certified Sommelier or higher certification preferred, with a deep knowledge of wine regions, grape varietals, production methods, and wine service techniquesPrevious experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining restaurant or similar upscale establishmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional mannerAttention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiencyAbility to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environmentAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
