Description :

Performs and interprets designated laboratory procedures.

Conducts serologic, chemical, bacteriologic, immunohematologic (blood bank), and microscopic procedures to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Performs accurate and appropriate testing on laboratory specimens according to established laboratory protocols.

Reports results in a timely manner.

Troubleshoots instruments, equipment, reagents, and patient specimen problems using standard laboratory techniques as required.

Performs laboratory quality control, including reporting discrepancies and troubleshooting according to established protocols.

Takes appropriate action to ensure quality results and products are provided for use by healthcare professionals.

Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and calibration on instruments and equipment to meet quality requirements.

Executes verification tests on new products and procedures, which includes comparisons and statistical analysis as requested.

Performs quality audit data collection, technical policy and procedure development, and inspection assistance under the direction of laboratory management.

Maintains workflow in the clinical laboratory through proficiency in testing and maintaining work areas and supply stock.

Monitors and assists in management of inventory.

Assists in training and orientation of new associates.

Promotes mission, vision, and values of the organization and adheres to service behavior standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.
