Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States as a Registered Respiratory Therapist working full-time night shifts. This role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory care services, including administering oxygen therapy, managing mechanical ventilation, and responding to respiratory emergencies with professionalism and calmness.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer continuous oxygen and bland aerosol therapies following departmental protocols.
- Perform intermittent respiratory therapies and diagnostic procedures.
- Access and administer patient medications in compliance with hospital policies.
- Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and document care accurately.
- Provide airway management and assist with emergency resuscitations, including intubations upon approval.
- Assess patient conditions to recommend appropriate respiratory care interventions.
- Operate and monitor respiratory equipment and perform charge therapist duties as needed.
- Maintain accurate charges for services rendered using the BCX system.
Education and Certifications :
Graduate of a COARC-accredited Respiratory Care Program.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.Licensure by the National Certified Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB).Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Experience and Skills :
Clinical experience in respiratory care is preferred.Strong understanding of medical terminology and current respiratory care techniques.Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations and collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Knowledge of psychosocial and physiological development across all age groups to provide tailored care.Physical Requirements :
Effective oral communication skills.Manual dexterity for equipment operation and assembly.Visual acuity and physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods.Capability to move and position patients and transport heavy equipment.Potential exposure to blood and other infectious materials.
