Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide direct dental care at Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) a non-profit, primary and dental health care center.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provide dental services and clinical leadership in dental clinic operation.

2. Supervise and teach students in patient care and community health.

3. Supervise and work with HMS Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienist and other support staff.

4. Participate in quality assurance and improvement process and HMS.

5. Promote HMS services in the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from US accredited Dental School
  • Licensed to practice Dentistry in New Mexico
  • Current BLS or equivalent certification or must obtain BLS or equivalent certification within 90 days of employment
  • Evidence of continuing education necessary to maintain licensure

DESIRABLE ABILITIES

  • Experience in serving underserved populations and rural areas.
  • Experience in community health.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and oral preferred.
  • Experience in teaching health science students and residents.
