American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position offering night shifts and requiring a NM or compact RN license with advanced fetal monitoring certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Family Birth Center / Labor & Delivery unitCare for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients, including triage, labor, and immediate newborn careResponsibilities include preparation for scheduled or emergency cesarean deliveries and stabilization of critically ill newborns for transportShift is 12-hour nights from 1700-0530, three shifts per weekFloating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is requiredUses Epic EMR with on-site training availableResponsibilities include labor and fetal assessment, medication administration, newborn stabilization, and postpartum careCare for patients experiencing a wide range of conditions including preterm labor, preeclampsia, and obstetric emergenciesProvide newborn care such as hearing screenings, lab draws, medication administration, phototherapy, and hypoglycemia managementAssist with circumcisions and care for newborns with opiate withdrawalMust be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and float as neededEpic EMR experience is preferred but not requiredTravelers who do not pass the BCA test may be dismissed from assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active NM or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years current Labor & Delivery nursing experienceBLS certification from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red CrossNRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification requiredAWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification requiredAssociates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) requiredMust pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignmentNo local candidates within 50 miles will be consideredReturning permanent staff must wait one year before being reconsidered as a traveler\n Benefits\n
