Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist with at least 2 years of acute care experience and Epic EMR proficiency for a Level III trauma hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care hospital setting at a Level III trauma facility
  • Day shifts (5x8 hours), 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM
  • Expected caseload of 6-8 treatment sessions per day
  • Float between units is required
  • Weekend shifts are included, rotating among 2-3 SLPs
  • Epic EMR is used for documentation and charting
  • Responsible for evaluating and treating a variety of acute care patients
  • Collaboration with a team of SLPs, rotating weekend coverage
  • Dress code allows for any color of scrubs
  • Free parking is available
  • All travelers should be prepared to float within the facility
  • Return staff must wait 3 months before returning as a traveler and may not submit if living within 50 miles
  • Minimal to no RTO is permitted and all requests must be made prior to contract
  • Completion of pre-start and annual non-billable modules is required
  • Requirements

  • Current Speech Language Pathologist license in WA or a compact state, if applicable
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an SLP in an acute care setting
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing environments
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references from within the last three years covering 1 year of employment in a comparable setting
  • Submission of SS card, driver’s license, date of birth, and COVID / flu vaccination documentation as required
