Optometry opening in MO - Located in Excelsior Springs, MO - 30m to Kansas City - Part-time opportunityPosition Overview : As a Part-Time Optometrist, you'll be part of a dedicated team providing essential care to those who need it most. You'll play a vital role in examining patients, diagnosing eye and vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses, and treating eye conditions. Facility serves over 45,000 patients annually, providing more than 200,000 visits across four counties.

We strive to make care visible, ensuring our promise is upheld in every action, every day.Position Responsibilities : - Examine eyes to determine visual acuity, perception, focus, and coordination - Diagnose diseases and abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness - Analyze test results and develop treatment plans - Prescribe, supply, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids - Prescribe medications for eye diseases - Educate and counsel patients on visual hygiene, contact lens care, and safety - Consult with and refer patients to other healthcare practitioners as needed - Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries - Prescribe therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve visionRequirements : - Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree - Active Missouri state-issued license for optometry - Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills - In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions - Demonstrated professional competence and ethical conductBenefits : - Medical, dental, and vision benefits, including Health Savings Account option - 401(k) retirement plan with company match - Company-paid benefits : life insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Short- and Long-Term Disability - Flexible Spending Account - Paid Days Off starting at 12 days annually from the first day of employment - Eight annual company-paid holidays; One annual paid personal day
