Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Bone Marrow Transplant Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel RN Position Job Notes : Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. • Work on a 40-bed bone marrow transplant unit with 20 beds on each floor
• Target patient ratio of 1 : 3, may stretch to 1 : 4 depending on staffing
• Must have oncology experience and chemo certification required
• Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, and ONS chemo certification
• Rotate weekends as part of scheduling requirements
• Travelers are first to float when floating is required
• Work with bedside monitors mounted on walls and bedside computers
• Use Meditech documentation system
• BMT experience preferred with PCU level of care skills required
• Must be competent to administer chemotherapy
• Ability to read telemetry and monitor simple titration of drips preferred
• Perform infrequent bone marrow biopsies
• Participate in bedside shift reports, safety rounds, and team management
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• Excellent assessment skills needed
• Unit staffing includes HUC Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM, 2 PCTs on day shift, 1 PCT on evening shift
