Description : Unit Notes : Clinician must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract. If clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, they will be disqualified for future opportunities for six months. Candidates may not have been employed with any associated facility within the past year. Unit is focused on telemetry care with a patient capacity of 49 beds. Nurse-patient ratios are 1 : 5. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. Common diagnoses for patients include congestive heart failure (CHF), respiratory conditions, gastrointestinal issues, diabetes, post-catheterization care, and total joint replacements. Staff members are responsible for interpreting telemetry strips and must sign off on them at least once per shift. Charge nurses and house supervisors are present on the unit. Nurse aides are available with a ratio of 1 : 10-15. Equipment available includes BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments. Schedules are self-managed but require final approval for balance by management. Weekend requirements are two weekends per four-week schedule. Holiday requirements include working during major holidays as specified. There is a floating requirement to other departments if qualified. Scrub color is navy blue. Charting is conducted using a specific electronic health records system. Nursing is provided in an acute care setting.
