Job description

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and the administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I / II, Correctional Facility (CF), the Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF performs or oversees the most difficult technical pre-analytical and post-analytical patient testing for the purposes of clinical treatment, medical diagnosis, health assessment or disease prevention. The Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF provides technical direction to lower level laboratory staff. Participates in quality assurance reviews and prepares administrative reports, statements, budget requests, and other documents required by administrative and medical staff. Maintains order and supervises the conduct of inmates and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.

Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist, CF Minimum Qualifications :

Possession of a valid California State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license or a license of equal or higher level issued by the State Department of Health Services. (Applicants who do not meet these requirements will be admitted to the examination, but must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)

And One year of experience in comprehensive laboratory work which has involved making laboratory analyses.

Please note : A Training and Development (T&D) assignment will not be considered at this time.

Working Conditions

Travel may be required.

The position(s) is eligible for hybrid centered work, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed / required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon the start of a telework arrangement, pursuant to Government Code sections 14200-14203.
