Job description

Job Title : Hardware Design Engineer

About the Role :

We are seeking a talented and driven Hardware Design Engineer to join our innovative team in Vernon Hills, IL . In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of mixed signal hardware systems , with a primary focus on hardware board design . You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, reliable, and scalable hardware solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and develop mixed signal circuitry , including analog and digital components.
  • Select and specify appropriate components and parts based on design requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to hardware board design , including schematic capture , PCB layout , and prototype validation .
  • Perform testing, debugging, and verification of hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with software, mechanical, and test engineers to support seamless hardware-software integration .
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications , test plans , and validation reports .
  • Stay current with emerging hardware technologies and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mixed signal circuit design .
  • Strong understanding of PCB layout principles , hardware debugging, and validation techniques.
  • Proficient in using hardware design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, SPICE).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a collaborative team environment .
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with high-speed digital design , signal integrity , and power integrity analysis .
  • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., FCC, CE) and EMI / EMC design considerations .
  • Experience working in regulated industries or with product certification processes.
