Conversational AI Developer (GCP / Dialogflow / Vertex AI)

Location : San Jose, CA (Hybrid) Duration : 6 months contract Job Description : We are seeking a skilled professional with hands-on experience in building and integrating conversational AI solutions using Dialogflow CX / ES, webhooks, and Gemini (Vertex AI). The ideal candidate will be proficient in Node.js / TypeScript and / or Python and have a passion for creating seamless conversational experiences while documenting and sharing best practices with the developer community. Responsibilities : Design, build, and maintain conversational flows and integrations using Dialogflow CX / ES. Develop and manage webhooks, RESTful APIs, and OAuth2-based authentication flows for AI-driven applications. Integrate Gemini (Vertex AI) models to enhance natural language understanding and response generation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and test end-to-end conversational experiences. Create developer-focused content — including tutorials, sample code, technical blogs, or demo videos — to promote best practices and enable adoption. Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure smooth deployment of conversational agents across channels. Experience : Proven experience with Dialogflow CX and / or ES, webhook development, and Vertex AI / Gemini integration. Strong programming skills in Node.js and / or Python, with familiarity in TypeScript. Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and OAuth2 authentication. Excellent technical writing and communication skills — able to explain complex concepts clearly. Prior experience creating technical tutorials, sample applications, or demo videos is a strong plus. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. Exposure to LLMs, prompt design, or AI agent orchestration. Familiarity with front-end integration frameworks (React, Angular, etc.) for chat UI embedding.
