Job description

You have 10+ years of Handwriting Analysis / Comparison experience . You want to use your training, education, and experience in a new and meaningful way .

Robson Forensic, a longstanding national forensic expert firm with an excellent reputation in the legal and scientific community, is currently seeking a full-time Forensic Document Examiner like you for the scientific examination of questioned handwriting and documents. The expert will provide investigation, analysis, reports, and testimony where technical and scientific answers are needed to help resolve issues within civil and criminal litigation.

Description :

  • You will conduct complex forensic document examinations, applying scientific practices to recognize, collect, analyze, and interpret evidence in legal cases, using advanced methodologies and techniques.
  • You will exercise independent discretion and judgment to form conclusions, develop opinions, and produce comprehensive reports based on the examination and analysis of evidence.
  • You will provide expert witness testimony , delivering clear, understandable explanations of complex evidence and scientific findings to a lay audience in judicial proceedings, supported by reports and exhibits.
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert and technical advisor in matters relating to the proper collection, preservation, packaging, and submission of criminal evidence; ensuring all handling requirements are met.

Required Qualifications :

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in forensic science, sciences, or related subjects .
  • You have 10+ years of Handwriting Analysis / Comparison experience.
  • You have successfully completed a minimum 24-month structured training program under the direct and constant supervision of a qualified primary training officer that comports to SWGDOC Standard for Minimum Training Requirements for Forensic Document Examiners.
  • You are familiar with instrumentation to include Microscopes; Electrostatic Detection Devices (e.g., Electrostatic Detection Apparatus (ESDA), etc.); document analysis with UV and IR lighting / filters (e.g., Video Spectral Comparator (VSC), etc.
  • You have proven ability to work both independently and remain flexible as part of a collaborative team.
  • You have excellent technical, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
  • You are willing to participate in and attend meetings with various forensic organizations.
  • You are willing to travel about 20% on average.
