Automation Control Room Supervisor

As an Automation Control Room Supervisor, you will oversee the delivery of tactical assistance to management in the monitoring and controlling of daily operations of all functional departments at ES3 York, coordinate initiatives to improve production and communications, plan and forecast to meet KPI initiatives, effectively supervise the day-to-day activities of all warehouse operational functions on the campus, and be able to effectively monitor the operation, analyze the current situation, and make recommendations that maximize the use of available resources to achieve the highest levels of performance for the campus as a whole, while driving improvement initiatives that result in greater efficiency and a higher level of service for the customer.

Night Shift - 6pm to 6am, 4 days a week

Monitor the daily activities of Grocery Warehouse Associates in the fulfillment of customer orders and general warehouse operations, ensuring all departments are operating at maximum capacity.

Recommend manpower allocations across departments, monitor production rates, inventory allocation and crane utilization to ensure maximum fill rates for the customer.

Seek out areas of loss in the operation; develop, lead and manage strategies to reduce losses and improve overall business productivity.

Assist the OCC manager in synchronizing all individual processes from automation, manual selection, and cross-dock to eliminate dock congestion.

Field calls from customers with various requests and complaints and communicate back with answers to their concerns and provide estimates on the severity of the issue.

Coordinate last minute store orders.

Utilize progressive coaching and counseling concepts according to established policies and procedures to provide continuous feedback on performance, increase employee retention and improve employee relations.

Skills

Specialized Knowledge :

Extensive knowledge and skill in retail distribution processes, logistics, warehouse operations and warehouse safety regulatory standards.

Strong leadership skills including team facilitation, training and motivation.

Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.

Bilingual a plus.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Advanced proficiency with PC skills including experience using windows, word processing, spreadsheet, email software. Additionally, Microsoft Office applications preferred; exposure to Warehouse Management Systems, SQL, voice recognition, inventory control, labor management is a plus.

Food Safety, Fork Lift Operator, and HACCP Certifications preferred.

Physical abilities :

Occasionally climbing up to 4 ft. (Must have fall protection training and using proper fall protection equipment).

Occasionally crawling, balancing, stooping, fingering, sitting, talking, pushing and pulling up to 80 Lbs.

Occasionally reaching (level : Waist / overhead, etc.).

Frequently feeling, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.

Frequently handling, carrying and lifting up to 80 Lbs.

Continuously standing and walking on surface type (s) : Carpet, tile, concrete.

Continuously carrying, seeing, hearing, smelling and repetitive movement using both hands and feet.

Years Of Experience :

2-5 : General warehouse experience; Supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree - Operations Management, High School Diploma - General Studies.
