American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift ICU position requiring acute and critical care skills and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within an acute care hospital settingPatient population includes cardiac and respiratory critical care casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Common titratable drips include Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and PrecedexRNs are required to titrate critical care dripsMonitors and strip interpretations performed by RNs, no monitor techs on unitVentilators, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment in use with 24 / 7 respiratory therapy supportUses MediTech EHRNight shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 6 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AMEvery other weekend and one major and one minor holiday coverage requiredRNs may be placed on call for low census, with a 30-minute required response timeFloating within contract requirements, with travelers generally floated firstMust attend two-unit orientation shifts prior to independenceCharge nurse and house supervisor support are available on the unitNo nurse aides are present on this unitDress code requires scrubs in black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khakiMay not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past yearHolidays and weekends are required as part of the scheduleFirst time travelers will be considered\n \n Requirements\n
