Mainframe Developer

Meridian is hiring a Mainframe Developer for their Columbia, SC location.

Hybrid schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday onsite)

The Mainframe Developer will be working on the core commercial (non-government) claims systems conducting analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of business requirements.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree or 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree.
• Minimum of 6 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
• Experience with COBOL, DB2, mainframe.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills / team building.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees across IT.
• Must show initiative and a desire to learn and grow within the team on the assignments given.
• Must have good verbal and written skills.
• Must be able to follow directions, adapt to changing requirements, and show initiative in learning and growing with the team.

NOT looking for : Entry-level candidates with less than 6 years of application development experience need not apply. Skills that are used solely in server-based technologies such as web development or systems infrastructure are not needed.

Contract : 12 months
