Job description

Essential Functions

  • Always provides unmatched service to guests.
  • Provides accurate directions and information for guest inquiries and is knowledgeable about all aspects of the Venetian Expo services and events.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, urgency and accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, including lobbies, corridors, and other front-of-house spaces as assigned.
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment, follow directions thoroughly, work with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure restrooms are regularly cleaned, stocked with supplies, and kept in excellent condition.
  • Perform deep cleaning of carpeted spaces as needed, including stain removal and vacuuming.
  • Clean and maintain offices, ensuring trash is emptied and surfaces are wiped down.
  • Keep break rooms clean and organized, restocking supplies and emptying trash.
  • Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies at appropriate par levels, ensuring no shortages.
  • Keep storage areas neat, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Respond to any special cleaning requests or immediate needs during events.
  • Collaborate with the cleaning team to ensure all areas are serviced and meet cleanliness standards.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Works in an appropriate non-hazardous manner avoiding self-injury and unsafe work methods.
  • Biohazard cleanups.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Report any maintenance deficiencies and handles guest requests or complaints.
  • Report safety concerns to management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Knowledge and Skill Requirements :

  • Prior experience in a cleaning or porter role preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain supplies and organize storage areas efficiently.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Able to operate all cleaning service equipment.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 25 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, potentially loud environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability to withstand various activities such as frequent walking, prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction.
  • Ability to work indoors / outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization / eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience cleaning janitorial or housekeeping duties preferred.
  • Must be able to use and understand proper chemical and supply handling.
  • Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment such; vacuum, pan and broom, etc.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well and help guests and Team Members.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with expo guests in a congenial and polite manner.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
