Job Description Summary
Under the guidance of a physician or advanced practice provider (APP) and under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Nurse Supervisor, the RN will deliver direct patient care, conduct patient triage, and assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care plans for clinic visits. This role requires collaborative teamwork with a multi-specialty professional staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Accurately measure and record vital signs, communicating any abnormal results to the treating provider.
- Gather and document detailed patient histories (medical, surgical, and social) and focused physical assessments as appropriate for clinic visits.
- Administer medications and treatments under the direction of a physician or APP.
- Assist with in-office procedures relevant to clinic specialties, documenting results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Review and triage incoming test results, manage patient requests, and process pharmacy renewals while facilitating necessary follow-ups.
- Utilize resources effectively to promote positive patient outcomes and contribute to quality metrics set by AMC, New York State, and national standards.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and / or MAs as permitted by licensure.
- Comply with AMC's regulatory agency standards and internal compliance policies.
- Participate in the orientation and training of newly hired staff.
- Engage in continuous education related to clinic specialties to maintain current knowledge.
- Educate patients regarding their health conditions and promote overall wellness.
Minimum Qualifications :
Associate's degree from an accredited Registered Nursing program.Current New York State RN licensure.Valid CPR certification.1-3 years of experience in Pediatric or ambulatory care preferred.Exceptional customer service and communication skills.Able to present information clearly and respond to inquiries from physicians, patients, and family members.Proficient with computer software, including MS Word and Excel.Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred.Capability to administer medications via various routes and calculate dosages accurately.We appreciate your interest in Albany Medical Center, where we are committed to equal opportunity in employment.
