Field Service Engineer

Field Service  Engineer This exciting role will be responsible for ensuring the customers' processing and packaging machinery operate at peak performance and serve as a technical expert.A solid understanding of industrial automation and packaging equipmentand troubleshooting skills will be needed to be successful in this role.They are headquartered in the Auburn, WA area. The company specializes in providing packaging innovation at every level of the customer’s operation. • Needs a proactive, positive attitude and involves regular travel (50-70% of the time) to various customer sites across the Pacific Northwest
• The position consists of Industrial Equipment servicing and troubleshooting, about 80% of the time, and Industrial Automation equipment integration andinstallation, about 20% of the time.
• Travel to customer locations on service calls; interact with customers to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair their equipment. (Disassembly and reassembly of machinery, overhaul gearboxes, replace bearings, replace sensors, etc.)
• Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, layout drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of materials
• Perform preventative maintenance activities on customer equipment
• Fix-break troubleshooting on down equipment. (Replacement of critical parts, PCBs, Timing belts, conveyor motors, etc.)
• Interpret electrical schematics to repair electrical componentry or wiring
• Identify potential machine failures and problems that may impact customer equipment
• Work with the scheduling team to identify the proper amount of time required for service calls
• Complete relevant service reports and logging of hours, components, etc., used during service calls
• Ensure overall customer satisfaction through excellent customer service and communication
• Machinery integration and installation activities
• Assist in technical activities with suppliers & engineering team
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing and installation of new equipment as needed
• Provide technical recommendations on projects
