CVICU RN Job Details

Location : Nashville, TN 37203 – Discover the vibrant culture, live music, and southern hospitality that make Nashville a premier destination for healthcare professionals.

Unit : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 16 beds

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : November 17, 2025

End Date : February 16, 2026

Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM (12-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Schedule : 2 weekends / month, 1 summer holiday, 2 winter holidays

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1530-$1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state)

Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU or critical care nursing experience

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Proficiency with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring

Preferred : Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to float to other ICU or critical care units as needed

Compliance with dress code : black, red, or galaxy blue scrubs

CVICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those with ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS

Perform advanced nursing procedures : central line insertion, swan insertion, intubations

Monitor and manage patients using Phillips bedside telemetry, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps

Document patient care in Meditech electronic health records

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including surgeons and intensivists, for optimal patient outcomes

Participate in a supportive environment with free-floating charge nurse, unit secretary, and tech support
