Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you’ll care for a diverse and complex patient population that includes :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resectionsCervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeriesPatients with hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke ProgramA high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow casesThis role offers exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care as part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) .

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness, ensuring the inclusion of patients and their families.Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patient conditions and collaborate with team members to adjust care plans as necessary.Implement patient safety strategies and ensure the readiness of patients and families to learn, customizing educational approaches.Actively coordinate discharge plans utilizing interdisciplinary approaches.Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance departmental functions and patient care experiences.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license issued by the stateBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.Experience Required :
