American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a SC or compact license for a Level 1 trauma center offering day shifts and on-call responsibilities.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is based in the main Operating Room of a hospital, Level I trauma, academic teaching, and Magnet facilityUnit includes 21 OR suites covering Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics specialtiesDay shifts consist of 4x10 hour schedule (6 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM) with holiday rotationOn-call required, up to 4 shifts every 4 weeksWeekend shift required up to once every 4 weeksFloating within scope to similar units or sister facilities may be requiredEpic EMR is usedScrub attire providedRNs are trained to scrub and circulate in this busy, dynamic, and nurse-driven environmentTeam consists of approximately 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical TechnologistsAdvanced technology and a supportive clinical teamPre-start modules (average 4 hours) must be completed before starting assignmentAll requested time off must be submitted for approval at the time of applicationDuring hurricane season (June-November), employees may be required for emergency responseParking requires a $20 registration fee for a garage hang tagLocal candidates may be accepted on a case-by-case basis\n \n Requirements\n
Active SC RN or compact / multistate RN license requiredBLS certification (AHA only) requiredRadiation badge required (provided by agency)Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience strongly preferredLevel 1 trauma experience requiredPrior scrub experience strongly preferredEPIC charting experience preferredCandidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility for travel eligibilityFirst-time travelers will be consideredPrevious perm or PRN staff must have a minimum 1-year separation from the health system\n Benefits\n
