Job description

Position Title : Project Engineer

Position Summary The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing technical engineering initiatives throughout the full lifecycle of our client's projects—from initial definition and quoting through production, delivery, and installation. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable standards and specifications. The Project Engineer collaborates cross-functionally with sales, purchasing, production, and external partners to deliver engineered solutions that meet customer requirements and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Project Lifecycle Management

  • Define project objectives in collaboration with the sales team
  • Assess site conditions to inform design and installation planning
  • Develop rack system designs tailored to site and customer specifications
  • Coordinate with lift and crane OEMs to ensure system compatibility
  • Source custom materials in partnership with the Purchasing team
  • Generate accurate cost workups and detailed proposals
  • Create proposal drawings and coordinate stamped drawings with engineering consultants
  • Present design and cost packages to executive leadership for approval (projects exceeding $1M)
  • Communicate fabrication and design requirements to the production team
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings with customers and installation crews
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation
  • Collaborate with customers and quality team to resolve warranty issues

Project Execution and Oversight

  • Lead project planning and delegate tasks based on team members’ skills and experience
  • Maintain and adjust project budgets as needed
  • Track project schedules and analyze progress against key milestones
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards
  • Develop and implement project plans, adjusting specifications as necessary
  • Document and report project status to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Technical Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with engineers to produce technical drawings and plans
  • Analyze project data to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Support change management and scalability initiatives
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure efficient project execution
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in project management tools and spreadsheet applications
  • Experience with inventory control and process optimization
  • Excellent time management and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles and mathematical concepts
  • Proven leadership and team coordination capabilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with structural design and fabrication processes
  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements related to engineered systems
