Job Description

Join a dynamic Environmental Monitoring Team at a global bio-pharmaceutical company specializing in generic sterile injectable manufacturing. As an Environmental Monitoring Analyst II, you will play a crucial role in viable and non-viable monitoring of manufacturing areas, conducting air, water, and surface sampling. Your expertise will ensure samples are logged in a proprietary LIMS, adhering to cGMP documentation practices. You will also process water, product, and commodity samples, performing bioburden testing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive sampling throughout the entire facility.
  • Assist supervisors in training and integrating new hires into the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Serve as an interim lead for supervisors as needed.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives when requested.
  • Perform bioburden testing on water and pharmaceutical product samples.
  • Test commodities for viable and non-viable particulates.
  • Support the microbiology labs by sampling on time to facilitate their testing processes.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related life science field with 2+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in environmental monitoring.
  • Associate's degree or high school diploma with 3-4 years of environmental monitoring experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in gowning and sampling in an aseptic manufacturing environment.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with LIMS and MODA sample tracking system.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical lab setup and cGMP manufacturing practices.
  • Knowledge of clean room practices and aseptic lab processing.
  • Work Environment

    The role requires working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, interacting with both the manufacturing floor and laboratory. The position entails 80% of time in manufacturing areas for sampling and 20% in the lab. The work schedule is a 1-night shift, 2-2-3 rotating from 7pm to 7am. The EM team is composed of 45-50 people split across day and night shifts with a rotating schedule. Analysts work in classified areas, requiring comfortable gowning in tight spaces, with restrictions on makeup, fake nails, and jewelry. Training involves collaboration with specific team trainers to achieve certification on routine tasks, taking a few months to complete.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00 / hr.

    This is a fully onsite position in Raleigh,NC.
