Job description

Job Description and Duties

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in person at their designated approved HQ location at least two (2) days per week and as needed / required. Beginning July 1, 2025, all DGS employees will be required to work in office at their assigned HQ location four (4) days per week and as needed / required in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under general direction of the Deputy Director, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) in the Facility Managements Division (FMD), Headquarters will serve as the FMD's non-supervisory, highly-skilled, and independent staff services specialist, responsible for management of the most complex, sensitive, and highly visible special projects pertaining to FMD's program and organizational needs, including business and customer development, and policy analysis. The position interacts with high-level DGS Executives, FMD management, Agency staff, program staff, program customers, and external stakeholders. This position utilizes Microsoft Suite, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and project management tools and performs duties in accordance with all applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, mandates and DGS and FMD directives and procedures.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
