The unit has a bed capacity of 22 with an average census of 20 patients per day. The role involves managing patients post cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve repairs, and those requiring circulatory support. Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 patients, with support from a CNA. Required skills include post-cardiac assessment and titration of vasoactive medications. Experience with interpretation of cardiac waveforms and hemodynamic monitoring is essential. The RN will collaborate with a charge nurse and have access to 24 / 7 intensivist support. Standard expectations include weekend rotations and working 75% of holidays.
