Registered Nurse - MS / Tele Specialty

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Med / Surg and Telemetry care. The role involves providing essential nursing care to orthopedic and trauma patients, particularly in a pre-op and post-op context.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with orthopedic and trauma diagnoses, including total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
  • Monitor patient vitals and cardiac rhythms, responding to any emergencies as they arise.
  • Administer medications, including IV therapy, insulin, and PCA pumps.
  • Provide wound care management and perform isolation precautions.
  • Engage in patient education and communication regarding care plans and post-operative recovery.

    • Schedule

    The schedule for this position includes night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.

    Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with orthopedic and trauma experience required.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Experience with Epic charting system is necessary.
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospitals and familiarity with trauma levels I and II.
