The Director of Marketing works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Marketing to implement a comprehensive marketing plan that enhances the Capital University brand, visibility, and mission. The Director of Marketing has specific responsibilities to lead efforts to implement marketing strategies related to enrollment growth in undergraduate, graduate, Law School, Trinity, and international student areas as part of the University's Strategic Initiatives. This role also provides support marketing services to various campus offices, departments, schools and for campus events, as assigned. The Director of Marketing serves as one of the liaisons to our external and internal clients and partners and their respective creative teams.

Primary roles and responsibilities :

  • Participate in developing a comprehensive enrollment marketing strategy that aligns with the university's goals, leveraging data and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and target audiences.
  • Oversee brand implementation and positioning of the institution to reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, and identity of Capital University in all enrollment-focused marketing. Safeguard and enhance the university's brand image ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Direct the various aspects of collateral development and work with the IMC team of writers, photographers, videographer, and designer to generate marketing materials that positively reflect Capital University.
  • Manage advertising campaigns to raise awareness of the university's position in the higher education marketplace.
  • Regularly assess the success of enrollment marketing campaigns through active monitoring of key performance indicators and make improvements and adjustments to campaigns when needed.
  • Work closely with enrollment management, admissions, academic departments, and other university units to align marketing efforts with enrollment and institutional goals.
  • Manage one-off advertising campaigns for community / public awareness of Capital University. Activities include articulating strategy, creative collaboration, and measuring campaign analytics.
  • Direct the marketing effort for special projects and initiatives, which can include writing marketing plans and working with IMC team members to develop marketing assets needed for campaigns. (Examples : Capital City Teacher Residency, academic program launches, environmental branding)
  • Serve as one of the liaisons to outside client service providers by assisting in strategy and campaign development and providing advertising / media agencies with the assets needed to implement these strategies.
  • Facilitate a collaborative and high-performing work environment for marketing initiatives, often coordinating projects that involve multiple team members to ensure seamless execution and shared success.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in marketing leadership roles, preferably in higher education or a similar field.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and market trends.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Proficiency in marketing software and analytics tools.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
