Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities :
Conduct product failure / accident analysis and support / conduct field investigations of incidents involving all types of mechanical equipment (e.g., vehicles, construction equipment)Perform calculations, engineering analyses, computer analyses and simulations, and technical reportingInvestigate the design, safety, and failure of mechanical equipment and / or their constituent componentsLead in-house metrology laboratory; process data in creating drawings and analyzing dataProvide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and writtenMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops / courses; reviewing professional publications and standards; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societiesRegular and predictable physical presence in the office when not on sitesPosition Requirements :
B.S in Mechanical Engineering requiredDegree from ABET accredited programMUST HAVE a minimum of two (2) years work experience in product development or testingE.I.T. strongly preferredOnce eligible, complete requirements to obtain P.E.Mechanical system design and development process experience requiredSafety standards / compliance backgroundStrong written and oral communication skillsComputer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation softwareComputer aided drawing (CAD) skillsInterpersonal and communication skillsAbility to present findings clearly, in verbal and written formatPhysical Requirements :
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, largely locally / regionallyAbility to maneuver in and around an accident siteAbility to lift 50 lbsAbility to drive to site locationsAbility to effectively communicate with clients and colleaguesAbility to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work siteBenefits :
