Job Title : Registered Nurse - Stepdown Intermediate Care Profession : RN Specialty : PCU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 06 : 45 PM - 07 : 15 AM Hours per Shift : 13 Experience : Minimum 1 year License : Valid RN License Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Successful completion of a rhythm test Must-Have : - BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Description : Unit Capacity : 36 Beds Population Served : Stepdown / PCU, including : - Continuous Bipap - Low-dose vasopressors - Trauma patients - Lumbar drains - CIWA patients on higher doses of Ativan - Hyponatremia - Emergency dialysis patients - Hyperkalemia - Antifreeze ingestions - Home vents (trachs) - Sheath removal - CEA - Rhabdo - Precedex - Stroke patients with Q2 neuro checks - Stable craniotomies - Fentanyl drips Ages of Patients Served : Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60) Nurse to Patient Ratios : 4 : 1 Core Staffing Plan : Variable staffing grid includes : - Registered Nurses (RNs) - Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) - Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) - Nurse Interns (NIs) An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.
