Locum Physician (MD / DO) - Hospitalist in Springfield, VT

We are seeking a Hospitalist for a locum tenens assignment in Vermont, beginning Dec 22, 2025, for a 5-day solo coverage opportunity. This position involves 24-hour on-site shifts with night call, providing comprehensive care in a hospital setting with an average daily census of 6.9 patients. The ideal candidate will be confident practicing autonomously, comfortable performing key procedures, and experienced in emergent situations. Job Details Location : Vermont Facility Type : Hospital Start Date : Dec 22, 2025 LOA : 5 days Provider Type Needed : Hospitalist Schedule : 24-hour shifts, Dec 22, 12pm through Dec 27, 12pm (on-site, 12-15 hours per day with night call); Orientation at 8am on Dec 22; daily shifts begin at 12pm; handoff at 12pm on last day Responsibilities and Duties Provide solo hospitalist coverage Perform patient admissions and daily rounding Manage swing beds included in the acute bed count Perform required procedures : vent management, central lines, lumbar puncture, paracentesis / thoracentesis, intubations Handle emergent intubations and ventilator management Utilize Meditech EHR for all charting and documentation Coordinate transfer of critical patients to higher-level care as needed Additional Information Must have at least 1 year of autonomous experience as a hospitalist Board certification required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required Must be licensed to practice in Vermont Experience and proficiency with required procedures essential Ability to work independently as the sole provider on site Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
