Hem / Onc Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Hematology / Oncology Physician shall be responsible for providing Hematology / Oncology care, including, but not limited to : Diagnosis, evaluation, and management of various disease conditions related to Hematological and Oncological diseases or coagulopathies.
• Performance of clinical procedures such as bone marrow biopsies with microscopic evaluation, prescription of chemotherapy and other cancer agents, and other duties as assigned, within the latest standards of evidence-based practice.
• Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic setting, if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
• Be on-call to evaluate and treat Hematologist / Oncologist consults, clinic, and chemotherapy patients. Extensive inpatient and outpatient teaching of medical students and medical residents is required.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient teaching of medical students and medical residents required.
• Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Hematology / Oncology clinical patients.
