Job Summary

Join Caterpillars fast-growing Power and Energy segment and help shape the future of quality excellence. As a Quality Manager youll lead high-impact initiatives that drive product reliability customer satisfaction and supplier performance across a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally manage global customer claims and influence strategic quality improvements. What You Will Do :

Support development of quality assurance strategies processes guidelines and control plans to assure the quality and reliability of manufactured products.

Lead the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to achieve quality targets.

Investigate and address trends in internal and external non-conformance.

Lead manage and develop multiple teams including team leaders quality specialists and inspectors to ensure quality standards are met.

Drive change based on data; review reports with quality assurance production management and engineering personnel to resolve quality issues.

Manage customer quality concerns including filing and tracking claims through Global Account Management systems.

Provide proactive support to suppliers to ensure alignment with quality expectations and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations Project Management and Engineering to address quality challenges and implement effective solutions.

Degree Requirement

Bachelors degree required; Engineering or a related field preferred.

What You Will Have :

Quality Management : Extensive experience and knowledge of quality management methods tools and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Interprets results of quantitative and statistical tools and explains results to others.

Communicates key benefits of a quality management process.

Conducts and directs quality reviews.

Develops expertise in quality assurance tools techniques and standards.

Develops quality assurance processes based on Six Sigma ISO 9000 or Baldrige principles.

Develops programs for motivating employees to meet or exceed quality goals.

Quality Risk Management : Working knowledge of processes tools and techniques for Quality Risk Management; ability to implement the quality assurance process of assessment control communication and review of risks to the quality of products.

Documents the key steps of a unit-specific risk management process and associated procedures.

Explains and analyzes quality indicators and metrics relevant to own unit or function.

Highlights Quality Risk Management issues throughout the product life cycle.

Participates in a crisis management team to address quality issues.

Understands overall business objectives to effectively mitigate risks associated with quality.

Problem Solving : Working knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.

Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.

Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information.

Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.

Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) : Working knowledge of the concepts principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA); ability to use a structured approach to identify the causes of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent recurrences.

Utilizes RCA techniques such as Flowchart Fish-bone Diagram etc. to investigate basic problems determine the causes and find resolutions.

Locates factors that resulted in harmful outcomes of one or more past events.

Pinpoints behaviors actions inaction or conditions that need to be changed.

Extrapolates lessons to be learned to promote the achievement of better consequences.

Practices RCA as an iterative process.

Influencing : Working knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization.

Develops basic persuasive arguments.

Discusses organizational culture around providing input on decisions.

Uses active listening skills and probing techniques to surface opportunities to influence.

Identifies who the decision makers are and how they receive information.

Regularly presents ideas or suggestions to associates in persuasive terms.

What Will Put You Ahead :

3 Year Quality Leadership Experience

3 Years Leadership in Operations / Manufacturing

Experience working in high-volume fast-faced environment

Customer Service Experience

Physical Requirements :

The ability to occasionally lift parts up to 25 lbs. individually or up to 70 lbs. with a team lift

The ability to bend reach and squat while performing tasks

The ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks

The ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures

The ability to stand and / or sit for extended periods while performing tasks

Additional Information :

This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.

Travel up to 10% is possible

Summary Pay Range :

$110520.00 - $165840.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
