Job description

60 - 70% - Backend is needed we need basically a backend guy with some experience in frontend. React is frontend. having it is a plus.

Typescript(Most important)

NestJS(Preferred) or Express JS or Sails.Js or loopback.js

NodeJS in Backend

Must have SQL DB integrations with node backend

Knowledge on ORM

Micro-services Architecture (Most people failing here)

  • We're seeking a Full Stack Developer with expertise in Node.js (TypeScript) and React to work closely with our lead for application modernization efforts.
  • You'll modernize legacy systems by incrementally replacing components with new services built on Node.js and React, ensuring zero downtime for healthcare providers and patients.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, and familiarity with NestJS, Ruby on Rails, or C#, will help you bridge legacy and modern systems during this transformation

Key Responsibilities : -

Application Modernization (Strangler Pattern) :

  • Work with the workstream lead for the incremental migration of 100+ legacy applications to a modern Node.js (TypeScript) backend and React frontend.
  • Design and implement modular services to "strangle" legacy components, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate with architects to define migration roadmaps, prioritize high-impact modules, and maintain HIPAA compliance

    • Frontend Development :

  • Modernize user interfaces with React, ensuring accessibility and compliance with healthcare UX standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Collaborate with designers to translate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive, patient-centric interfaces.
  • Implement state management (Redux, Context API) and optimize frontend performance for high-traffic scenarios.

    • Backend Modernization :

  • Build scalable, secure APIs and microservices with Node.js and TypeScript, prioritizing performance for healthcare workflows.
  • Integrate with EHR / EMR systems, pharmacy networks, and third-party healthcare APIs.
  • Optimize Azure cloud resources (Blob Storage) for HIPAA-compliant data handling

    • Collaboration & Compliance :

  • Work with QA teams to ensure applications meet healthcare regulatory standards (HIPAA, HITRUST).
  • Partner with DevOps to automate CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and monitor production systems.
  • Document modernization progress and provide training for teams adopting new tools.

    • Nice to Have Skills :

  • Experience with NestJS for structuring enterprise-grade backend services.
  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or C# to maintain / refactor legacy components during migration.
  • Knowledge of Azure healthcare tools (Azure API for FHIR, Health Data Services).
  • Exposure to healthcare-specific protocols (HL7, FHIR) or prior authorization workflows.

    • Qualifications

    Required Skills :

  • 10+ years of full stack development experience, with 5+ years in Node.js (TypeScript) and React.
  • Proven track record modernizing large-scale applications using the Strangler Pattern or similar incremental migration strategies.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, SQL / NoSQL databases, and secure coding practices for healthcare.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Background in healthcare technology, life sciences, or regulated industries (HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Familiarity with NestJS, Ruby on Rails, or C#.
  • Knowledge of FHIR standards or healthcare interoperability frameworks.
