Job Title : Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to set up, operate, or tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, and bend metal materials. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read blueprints and measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using various tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, or bend metal materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accuracy and precision.
• Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
• Load metal materials into machines and start machines, selecting the correct program for the desired part.
• Monitor machine operations and record operational data.
• Test and adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications, using gauges and hand tools.
• Clean and lubricate machines regularly.
• Position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or on dies.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices to position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces.
• Grind out burrs and sharp edges using portable grinders.
• Operate forklifts and cranes to move parts.
• Lift up to 50lbs continuously throughout the day and stand in one position for long periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SOUTH BELOIT, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00 / hr.
