Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist consults with the Interdisciplinary Teams (IDT) to provide the best plan of coordinated speech / swallowing services for the participants.  Full or part time – weekdays only.   Methuen, MA area.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Conducts initial Speech therapy evaluations and screens, develops individual treatment plans, implements appropriate interventions, and treats as appropriate.
• Coordinates speech / swallowing services as they relate to direct patient care.
• Records required documentation timely and per Organizational policy.
• Prepares for and participates in pre-enrollment, care planning, debriefing, staff meetings and discharge planning.  Attends family meetings as necessary.
• Performs cognitive, linguistic, and swallowing evaluations as referred by the medical team.
• Conducts education and training for the participant, family, and caregivers regarding speech therapy treatment.
• Assists with the development of policies, procedures and applicable workflows.
• Frequently contributes to the development and implementation of new ideas and methods.
• Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
• Ability to pass a fit test. Position requires mask where seal is critical. Incumbent is required to not have facial hair that interferes with a tight seal of the respirator.
• Frequent local travel.
• Performs other duties as required.
