Christ Church Charlotte is seeking a Sanctuary Audio Engineer / Production Team Member to support the ministries of Christ Church by recording, mixing, and mastering sound for live and / or livestreamed worship services and events. The primary responsibility is to mix sound (spoken, choir, organ, etc.) for the traditional worship services in the Church sanctuary on Sunday mornings.

Hours

  • Mid-September thru mid-May : Sundays, 7 : 15 am - 12 : 45 pm
  • Mid-May thru mid-September : Sundays, 7 : 30 am – 12 : 00 pm (hours will vary)
  • Other dates / times as available and scheduled by Audio-Video Production Director (AVPD)

Responsibilities

  • Run sound for front of house, livestream mix out, etc. during live worship services, weddings, funerals, choral concerts, and other events as assigned by AVPD.
  • Assist with equipment set-up / tear-down, sound checks, staging, and other tasks before, during, and after assigned events.
  • Provide back-up when needed with camera operation and / or livestream.
  • Attend online production meetings when needed.
  • Qualifications

  • Ability to perform duties listed above, including lifting equipment and climbing stairs
  • At least two years’ experience as a sound engineer, preferably in a church environment
  • An ear for proper EQ attenuation and acoustic adjustment
  • Working knowledge of soundboards / digital consoles, sound equipment, sound mixing and computer hardware
  • Able to troubleshoot and quickly correct sound problems as they occur during live events
  • Working knowledge of video livestreaming (experience with Boxcast is preferred)
  • Highly dependable and responsible
  • Compensation

    Hourly, commensurate with experience
