Schedule / Hours :
Full-time, evening shift, 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with on-call requirements, mostly overnight call (5-8 slots) and 1 or 2 weekend call slots within an 8-week scheduling window. Call hours may fluctuate depending on staffing needs, requiring prompt response within 30 minutes.
Major Responsibilities :
Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment conducive to optimal patient care, utilizing aseptic surgical techniques during preparation.Assist with a variety of procedures, maintaining an understanding of numerous surgical practices.Prepare the operating room for surgical cases and manage equipment efficiently.Act as a Second Assistant as needed.Communicate equipment and supply issues to appropriate staff.Transports patients, equipment, and supplies as necessary.Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all items are complete and functional.Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper lifting techniques.Demonstrate knowledge of age-appropriate care requirements and growth principles.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of hire unless exempted by leadership.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.Experience Required :
No prior experience is necessary.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.Basic computer proficiency.Commitment to ongoing education to maintain hospital certification standards.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
