Overview : Risk Manager

Job requires minimum weekly travel. Office at SRMH with travel within Blue Ridge Harrisonburg Northern Virginia Charlottesville and surrounding communities predominantly.

• Responsible for the facility / divisions risk management activities which include coordinating insurance coverage and risk financing managing claims against the division / facility interfacing with claims adjusters and defense legal counsel.
• Also responsible for coordinating and maintaining a loss control program administering the risk management program on a day-to-day basis managing and analyzing risk management data and conducting risk management educational programs.
• Coordinates with division leaders and collaborates with clinical teams to develop strategies to prevent medical error and reduce loss.
• Engages team members to evaluate incidents and conduct investigation provide for appropriate response to claims.
• Ensures compliance with risk management related laws and regulation to control and minimize losses. Identifies trends and reviews System reports; conducts loss control audits; and conducts reviews to evaluate patient care quality and to identify possible risk exposures.
• Participates with select committees related to the assessment of patient care and safety customer satisfaction and facility issues to assist in providing risk management expertise and direction.
