IU Health Physicians is seeking an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic team at a bustling level 1 academic trauma center. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in orthopedic trauma care and a passion for teaching and research within an academic setting. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex cases in a high-energy environment while contributing to the education of orthopedic residents and fellows.

Position Details

• Level 1 trauma center — call coverage shared among group
• Monday–Friday, 1 day clinic weekly, 1 block day, weekend call variable
• Location : IU Health Methodist Hospital
• Approximately 20% outpatient / 80% inpatient
• Responsibilities include : adult patient population serving level 1 trauma center downtown Indianapolis
• Proficiency in managing and surgically treating pelvis and acetabular fractures, with expertise in repairing articular fractures and long bone injuries

The hospital is part of the IU Health Adult Academic Health Center, and is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the top hospital in the state of Indiana. Construction for a new downtown hospital and campus is underway, opening in late 2027, featuring three 16-story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building east of the new hospital.
