Job Title : Occupational Therapist 1 Profession : Therapist Specialty : Occupational Therapy Duration : 13 weeks Shift : AM Hours per Shift : 8 Experience : 1 year minimum experience in Inpatient Rehab / Acute Care License : Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy Certifications : BLS (AHA Only) Must-Have : Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills Description : The Occupational Therapist 1 plans, organizes, and provides professional services in restorative, functional, and preventative therapeutic programs to patients. Clinical practice includes evaluation and occupational therapy treatment planning to facilitate rehabilitation of the mentally, physically, or emotionally handicapped. Works closely with patients and their families to establish and meet treatment goals. Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients. Modifies therapy programs and goals as necessary. Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, families, and staff. Supervises support staff, students, and volunteers. Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review, and implementation of evidence-based practice. Shares knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines. Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns individual goals and work activities to support or impact the system goals. Possesses problem-solving skills necessary to accomplish the job. Demonstrates good communication skills, relating professionally to patients and their family members. Exhibits strong interpersonal skills. Assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers. Possesses proficient computer knowledge and operates multiple computer systems and standard rehabilitation equipment. Maintains high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
