Key responsibilities include providing smart customer service through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs. This includes seeking out customers to understand their needs and assisting in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and / or loading merchandise. Additionally, the role involves listening to and responding knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions by taking them to areas of the store and walking them through projects when necessary. Demonstrating sincere appreciation to customers and communicating information regarding all stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe's programs are also part of the role. The individual must ensure to meet the customers' needs during a return by properly refunding the return and helping find the correct product for replacement. They work closely with the Production Office team to ensure timely processing of RTMs for labor, product, and vendor / manufacturer reimbursements for installed projects. Maintaining positive vendor relationships while managing difficult conversations about performance of the vendor's products and services is also crucial. The role involves completing the Centralized Return to Vendor (CRTV) program which includes all packaging, shipment creation, and inventory transfers to the Reverse Logistics Center (RLC). It also includes completing the Return to Manufacturer (RTM) program which includes all paperwork, packaging, vendor contact, and credit. Processing and returning damaged, discontinued, defective, out-for-repair, special order, and vendor buy-back merchandise by CRTV and / or contacting appropriate vendors according to policies and procedures is required. Returning refunded merchandise to the sales floor and generating and monitoring reports including weekly cleared list, damaged on-hand list, and out-for-repair list are also part of the responsibilities. The individual must order parts of products that are missing and necessary for assembly, coordinate with drivers and receiving team to ensure merchandise is accessible quickly to customers and order pick-up, and assist in unloading trucks and moving pallet jacks to proper place to help in receiving products efficiently. Ensuring clean and safe stores involves validating items being carried in and out of the store when appropriate, checking returned products against the Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to determine if they require placement in the hazmat cage, and assuring proper storage, clean-up, and disposal of all hazardous materials. Participating in recycling programs and Hazmat, equipment, and safety training as required, ensuring doors and gates are secured or monitored when open, and using box bailer to compress cardboard that is sent to receiving are also part of the role. Detecting common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicating them to management and / or Asset Protection, ensuring compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment are crucial. Adhering to all safety requirements relevant to one's regular job duties and operating store equipment as needed depending on one specific role and department are also required.
Required qualifications include the ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law. Preferred qualifications include 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork, 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration, 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry / bookkeeping, 6 months of experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment, and 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns.
Pay range is $16.50 - $17.20 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and / or experience.
