JOB PURPOSE :

Estimator has the responsibility of analyzing proposals and requirements necessary in establishing cost estimates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents.
  • Create and verify data using specifications and / or drawings.
  • Gather, evaluate and analyze data using current and historical data to develop quotes and proposals.
  • Work with engineering, purchasing and other related departments to include all cost components involved.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Interacts with purchasing and production to maintain accuracy of estimating data base.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending workshops, visiting suppliers and reading publications.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication .
  • Knowledge of blueprints and technical specifications.

    • EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

    Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years experience.
