We are seeking an experiencedLocums Thoracic Surgery Physician to provide high-acuity surgical call coveragein Richmond, VA. This position is hospital-based and focuses on acute carethoracic surgery, offering exposure to a wide range of complex procedures andpathology.
Position Details
- Shift Type : 24-hour call shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 AM)
- Setting : Hospital-based, acute care
- Average Cases per Day : 2–3
- Duration : Ongoing locum coverage needs
Required ProceduralCompetencies
Thoracic surgical procedures : Bronchoscopy, VATS, Robot-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, Mediastinoscopy, Tube Thoracostomy, Tracheostomy, Pericardial Window, Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy, Thoracotomy, DecorticationEndoscopic procedures : Navigational Bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)Management of thoracic conditions : Lung cancer, esophageal disorders, pleural effusions, pneumothorax, mediastinal masses, rib fractures, thoracic outlet syndrome, diaphragm hernias, and advanced lung disease (COPD, pulmonary fibrosis)Requirements
