Position Summary :
The Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO) is a strategic leader responsible for the financial health, operational effectiveness, and long-term sustainability of the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM). Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Leadership Team, the CFOO oversees Finance, HR, IT, Facilities, Exhibit Production, Food and Beverage, and overall museum operations.
Key responsibilities include leading multi-year financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting; aligning resources with strategic goals; managing risk, compliance, and infrastructure; and building operational systems that support growth. The CFOO is a key advisor to the CEO and Board and serves as the primary liaison to the National Park Service’s Golden Gate National Recreation Area business office.
Ideal Candidate :
Minimum 5 years of senior nonprofit finance and operations experience, strong strategic planning and leadership skills, and expertise in nonprofit financial management, audits, compliance, and cross-functional team oversight.
Salary Range : $180,000–$190,000
Schedule : FT, Hybrid – minimum 3 days / week onsite; periodic evenings and weekends required.
