Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, with expertise in real estate, mortgage law, and financial services. The multi-state law firm provides legal services to financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, mortgage servicers, and investors.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage a caseload of real estate litigation and mortgage law matters while meeting billable hour requirements.
  • Represent clients in mediations, trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, discovery, and opinion letters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis using Fastcase or Westlaw.
  • Work collaboratively with legal teams to develop case strategies and ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Travel as needed for litigation proceedings.

Qualifications :

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active California bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience with a focus on Depository and Nondepository law.
  • Proficient in legal research methodologies with experience using LexisNexis and Westlaw.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful settlements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective advocacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong proficiency in legal research, drafting pleadings, and case management.
  • Expertise in civil procedure and rules of evidence in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Have knowledge of FDCPA and Article 9 of the UCC (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in debt collection litigation and financial services law preferred.
