News Director

Connoisseur Media is looking for an exceptional News Director to lead the KGLO News Team and host the morning show in beautiful Mason City Iowa . This full-time position runs Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and covers news for five stations KGLO AM 1300 KIAI 93.9 KLSS 106.1 KYTC 102.7 and KRIB AM 1490 / 96.7 FM . The ideal candidate is a dynamic communicator and motivated leader with strong news judgment digital savvy and the ability to deliver engaging timely content across multiple platforms.

This hands-on role requires a passionate newsroom leader who can guide a talented team while actively reporting producing and anchoring news. Youll be responsible for on-air broadcasts social media updates and immediate coverage when news breaks. Expect a fast-paced high-standard environment focused on delivering meaningful on-demand news for an engaged audience. Key Area of Responsibility :

• Morning Show on KGLO from Monday through Friday.
• Ensure the news team meets the required minimum daily story count.
• Ensure the news team contributes to the web and other digital platforms.
• Management and maintenance of the KGLO website Facebook and Twitter accounts.
• You will be required to contribute original story ideas daily that are not covered elsewhere.
• Collaborate with news anchors and reporters on news events of the day to prioritize coverage importance.
• Monitor all news coverage of local television affiliates local newspapers and other local radio stations.
• Stay up to date with upcoming city council meetings county commissioners court meetings various board meetings and the like.
• Other duties as assigned by the Market Manager.
